World Conference Meetings
Saturday, April 10, 2010
The ASCRA general membership meeting will be held Saturday, April 10th.
Join us at 09:00 AM Central Time at the Gudgell Park congregation, three
blocks east of Noland Road at 500 East Gudgell, Independence, MO 64055
(Pastor Michael Hahn KGØXU, 816-521-4069). Talk-in frequency is 146.73 MHz
using ASCRA's WØSHQ 146.13/73(-) repeater (no PL). The meeting should
begin no later than 09:30 and should last no more than two hours.
Our guest speaker will be Mark Widner KCØUMZ,
Independence/Eastern Jackson County Emergency Preparedness Manager.
We will adjourn for lunch together at Ryan's Family Steak House (buffet),
1511 East 23rd Street (Zipcode 64055, north on Noland Road from Gudgell,
then east on 23rd). After lunch those interested may tour the Emergency
Operations Center (EOC), located in Fire Station #1 at 950 North Spring
Street, Independence, MO 64050 (at 24 Highway just east of the Truman
Presidential Library). The ASCRA board of directors will meet in the
EOC following the tour, hopefully by 1:30 PM.
Check this website for updates prior to the conference, or visit the
ASCRA WØSHQ Amateur Radio Station (room 631, 816-833-1000 ext. 1319)
up the sixth floor stairwell, southeast corner of the Auditorium.
Updates, changes or other announcements will also be published in the
Daily Conference Bulletin as space permits. Licensed members and
visitors may operate the HQ station after a brief operational training
session.
Unlicensed visitors are also welcome and may talk with other Ham Radio
stations around the world under supervision of the duty operator.
Celebrating 150 years! The 2010 World Conference (April 10-17) celebrates
the sesquicentennial (150th) anniversary of 1860 reorganization of the Church.
